At FAIST Group we know that technological innovation and efficiency for processes are key elements for any company, just as much as we know that both are intrinsically dependent on human capital worth. That is why we have always invested in training courses and collaborations with universities all over the world; we strongly believe in talents development, starting with students.
Our Light Metals Business Unit, dealing in die casting, precision machining and surface plating, is plain and simple proof of this fact.
In the FAIST Light Metals plant in Mexico, we initiated a close collaboration a few months ago with Instituto Politecnico Nacional in Silao. This involved internship projects for five students, involving them in different areas such as production, quality, supply chain and safety, all focused on continuous-improvement activities.
In addition, as of September, we will host two students in our corporate offices in Italy, from Singapore University. They will work on global projects on standardization and continuous improvement, in collaboration with other students from Bologna Engineering University, and will all be working to complete masters theses.
Our philosophy is to involve trainees who can support our work directly in several specific projects, yet also put them in the position that they can learn a lot from us, as we provide several training sessions on different key topics.
It’s a mutual learning opportunity, and also this approach creates a network of people across different locations, who learn from each other and share projects in a multicultural working environment.
